SOUK, Liverpool

SOUK is a Mediterranean Gastro Cafe on Bold Street, Liverpool. It specialises in a range of different dishes from pastas and pizzas to seafood and meat platters SOUK will cater to all of your Mediterranean needs.

My first impression of the restaurant was that it was cool and quirky and seemed to be quite green due to the use of plants around the restaurant ( the "SOUK" in greenery on the wall especially being a nice touch). I also liked the colour scheme of the room which was orange, grey and green conveying the Mediterranean vibes. I decided to get the seafood platter to share which was £16.95 for the two of us. It came on a teal plate which had the sides (a spicy mayo, aubergine salad and toast for soaking up the juices and spices, with all of the seafood in a yellow bowl. I was surprised by the presentation of this dish as usually seafood platter can look quite messy or is organised into sections, however this dish looked presentable due to the use of a good colour scheme of plates against the colours of the seafood, the bright colours of the dishes also conveyed the Mediterranean theme of the restaurant and brought out the colours of the seafood making it look fresh and appetising, especially with the prawns. The mixtures of blue, yellow, black, pink and orange with the green garnish on top definitely caught my eye as well as catching the eyes of others around us.

Overall, I would definitely recommend a visit to SOUK, its vibrant atmosphere with a wide range of Mediterranean foods available. It's a great place to visit with a lot of choice and is great value for money!
